Two chicks. On Saturday 20th we barely saw the down of one chick

I had portended that the tiger-heron chicks had arrived and was not mistaken. Still very concealed but some white down may be seen. How many are there? They normally lay two or three eggs. We hope the clutch will prosper. Two caracaras pounced on the nest fruitlessly.

It seems a small platform but if you pay attention you will find two tiger-herons.

When we discovered the juvenile tiger-heron it had already caught this aquatic snake Helicops infrataeniatus. It shook the snake several times but unsuccessfully. The snake was very long and coiled around the bill as they usually do. Unluckily it moved away with the snake and the end of the story remains unknown
