Ailanthus webworm moth - Atteva pustulella

Adult
It curves its hindwings along the body making the adult look long and slender. It is very showy with its orange colouring with white spots edged black. It frequents flowers during the day to lap up nectar.

Caterpillar
The larvae feed on sprouts of the tree heaven Ailanthus altissima, an exotic tree which grows in the reserve. They get leaves together with silk threads to form a nest. There they live communally and feed on those leaves.
