Comparison between Trachemys native and exotic species

This comparison was provided by Marcelo Cavicchia in 2006 when these two turtles were considered subspecies of Trachemys scripta, being elegans the exotic and dorbignyi the native. Recently our native dorbignyi has been elevated to the rank of species. Today is Trachemys dorbignyi. So they only share the genus Trachemys. It was only a change of name.
