This caterpillar feeds on Vitaceae species. It is in its last larval stage, before pupation.

Marcelo discovered this caterpillar crossing the road and called us. An impressive size. At fist sight some 10 cm. The coin serves as a reference. We surrounded it so as to keep it safe from passers-by or cyclists till the edge of the road.
