Family Euphorbiaceae

Exotic

Pencil plantEuphoriba tirucalliÁrbol dedo/Pencil plant© Dolores FernándezÁrbol dedo/Pencil plant© Dolores FernándezThis exotic plat has an unmistakable aspect. It looks like fingers of a hand. Leaves are difficult to see since they are very little and last a short time. The "fingers" are stems which photosintethize. This plant belong to the Euphorbiaceae, a family which typically produces a white latex when cut. This plant's sap is very irritating and toxic. So, be careful. This plant is located at the former Covimet area. It was detected by Manlio who told us about these characteristics.
