This species is exclusively American, however the epithet asiaticum was assigned by mistake. The Asian species, Sceliphron curvatum, has already been found in Buenos Aires on several occasions.

These wasps build nests with overlapped cells which are covered with a layer of mud and then attached to a surface. There they will stock up on spiders to feed the larvae.
