Woodpecker's nest reused by woodpeckers

Carlos tells us the story of this nest. "It was built by a green-barred woodpecker at the end of 2007. It was located in a dried trunk near the Viamonte Access on the right before reaching the benches and at 10 m from the path. It was later reused by other pair of woodpeckers.

In August 2008 two pairs of woodpeckers, one green-barred woodpecker and a campo flicker inspected the nest.

Finally the campo flicker nested succesfully.

After they had left by late November, the nest was occupied by green-barred woodpeckers. Unluckily a storm pulled the trunk down with the nest facing downwards and it was impossible for me to check the state of the nest. "
