Very exposed either by the wall or across the pond it was on the alert for a morsel. It is to be noted the smooth swinging of the neck sideways, typical movement also observed in the whistling heron when hunting.

Out of the blue a bittern popped up, moved in the vegetation in front of us and soon disappeared
