Parakeet native to the Chaco region. Other parrots and parakeets were released in Buenos Aires due to confiscation and established in the area of buenos Aires.
Undoubtedly its favourite food are the seeds of the white cedar Melia azedarach. Always in groups they settle in a tree to feed. The toe arrangement, two oriented backwards and the other two forwards, gives a good grip, which helps manipulate food easily. Unlike Monk Parakeets, Nenday Parakeets have never been seen eating "chunk food" from the foodstands.
