Parasitism: Hornero parasitized by shiny cowbird
A fight between a tropical kingbird and another bird called our eye. The latter turned to be a female shiny cowbird and we assumed the cowbird tried to parasitize the kingbird. The cowbird left and the kingbird perched in a tipu tree. We thought the nest could be near and stayed to see if we could spot it. We were not lucky. But to our surprise in a tipu tree next to it there was a hornero that had been parasitized by a shiny cowbird. The fledgling claimed for food. Nevertheless when the hornero arrived, it got into the nest to feed its own chicks. On this occasion the cowbird got nothing. But a few moments later another or the same adult brought him some food.
