Lots of red shovelers around. Only at Coypu Pond where they are easily seen, we counted 14. Gustavo tells us that he saw too many displays with males and females bobbing their heads. Héctor saw them mate. If the whole nesting process is successful, this will be the first record for this species

At the very beginnig of the walk at the Viamonte Access Sergio saw this pygmy owl in a tipu tree by the water tank. Too many birds surrounded the pygmy owl crossing from one side to the other frenetically and shouting on top of their voices. Masked gnatcatcher, rufous hornero, chalk-browed mockingbird, hummingbird, house wren and rufous-bellied thrush all of them were in fact very excited. The pygmy-owl was nervous, too, moving its tail from side to side. It did not stay long.
When we saw the images we realized that the pygmy-owl was ringed.
