Near the nest

This caracara nest is in a white cedar by the new viewpoint. Though it is not easy to spot because it is covered with dried stems of creeping plants, we had detected the common activities - carrying material to the nest and recently also food, a clear sign that they had been successful. We can see how the adult teaches the little caracara to catch food from the ground instead of being delivered directly into the bill
