Andrés Capdevielle, Drirector of the Rehabilitation Center, said about this ringed hawk: "This Hawk was registered on 13-02-2012 as RECS N° 16. It was a fledgling of the nest located in the tipu tree of the Canal Viamonte. Personnel of the arboretum found it floating in the water tank next to the Viamonte hut. It was in a bad state and we thought it would not make it since it did not stand and was in shock. It was taken to the zoo to have some X-rays and a sanitary control. There it was registered as PCRAR N° 353. Back in the RECS, it was treated with antibiotics (due to water aspiration). It responded to the treatment satisfactorily, was active and fed on his own. Once the antibiotic intake ended and before it lost muscular mass due to enclosure, it was ringed with a black tag on the right leg and was released in the area of the nest on 24-02-2012."
