Eating a rock pigeon
Two easily confused
The difference in colour of the neck leaps to the eye. The Gray-necked Wood-Rail's neck is completely gray, whereas that of the Giant Wood-Rail is two-coloured. The foreneck is gray and the hindneck is chestnut. If they were together the difference in size would be easily noted. The Gray-necked Wood-Rail (36 cm) is smaller than the Giant Wood-Rail (42 cm).
