Carlos tells us that "I was sitting in front of the new viewpoint when somebody approached with a bittern in his hand. He was about to realease it on the ground below. I convinced him not to. He said he had been handed the bittern a short time ago and did not know whether the animal was able to feed by itself. I told him to take it to the Viamonte Access and hand it to the Reserve Personnel so that they it should be reinserted accordingly. I took some photos as he held it and in the cage. It seemed to be in good condition.

The first family was sailing from Brasil to Viamonte. After I had seen the bittern I found the second family ten blocks away. At first I thought it was the first family which had reached there, but right away I remembered that the number of cygnets was smaller.

These photos help fix the differences. The bill, the grey colouring, colour of the upperparts, etc. We must pay attention to all of them because they are not always very exposed just like in theses photos.
